Something Wonderful

I'm going to keep this short and sweet. SOMETHING WONDERFUL by Judith McNaught is quite possibly one of the best books ever written. If you ever find yourself in a reader's slump, this book will get you out of it.

Here's a quick synopsis: heroine saves hero's life; hero, believing heroine a boy (because she's dressed like one and hasn't yet filled out - she's 18) takes her to an inn to tend to a few injuries; a few people recognize her; hero figures out she's a girl and takes her home....no harm is done…so he thinks, but he's dead wrong because her mom, who hates all men because of her husband, threatens to sue him for loss of his daughter's good name and forces him to marry her. Heroine spends some time with hero; she falls in love with him and tells him so. Hero is affected by heroine. She's a breath of fresh air, next to the women he knows; she's smart, quoting philosophers and writers every chance she gets, loving and honest. I won't ruin the story for anyone...just know that there's a separation between the two. Hero disappears (you have to read the story to find out how and why). The heroine grows up fast and when the hero returns...well, all hell breaks lose and the story gets even hotter...

Hero - A+
Heroine - A+
Sex - A+
Plot - A+
Over all Grade = A+

How did I go this long without reading a McNaught novel? I'd like to thank Sanctuary's Finest for recommending SOMETHING WONDERFUL. It was just that. Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you.

I love this book. Aren't Jordon and Alex perfect characters? The writing is superb, the character development flawless and the story amazing.

I loved watching Alex grow from young and naive to a wonderful, mature woman.

Don't even get me started on Jordon. YUM!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I can't wait for you to read Almost Heaven now. I like that one even better than SW.

Aww, I'm so glad you liked the book, didn't Jordan just rock your socks? Gosh, that man is the one responsible for getting me hooked to romance novels, I just love him to pieces!

Can't wait to see how you like Almost Heaven, because Ian's just as yummy as Jordan is!

Happy Reading!

You are welcome.

I loved this book.

I loved how even though Alex was naive, she wasn't stupid and helpless. My heart broke for her when she realized what kind of Jordan was before they met.

Sigh.. and Jordan. He was a knuckle head at times, but I love him.

Acckkk - another one I'm going to have to dig out. I read this one years ago too and don't really remember the storyline. And since you're review didn't really jog it (too many books all jumbled up in my brain) it will almost be like reading it new again!

I'm so glad you enjoyed SW. It still remains to be one of my favourite books. Jordan and Alex complimented each other so well and I loved seeing how they developed throughout the book. *sigh* I LOVE Jordan.

I agree with Holly, while SW was a great read, Almost Heaven just knocked my socks off. Well, no. Ian Thornton from AH knocked my socks off. LOL.

I'm very anxious to hear what you think of the rest of JM's books.

Oh no, now I'm torn! Should I go for SW first or AH. Decisions, decisions ...

AG,
It looks like SOMETHING WONDERFUL comes before ALMOST HEAVEN, with SW's lovers reappearing in AH. I'm going to read AH tonight...hopefully finish it. Read SW, then AH and let me know what you think...SW was so good!
