And Another One..Another One..Another Bites the Dust...

Connie Brockway's leaving historicals to write contemporaries? When did this happen? Why am I always the last one to know? Brockway's website says zilch about anything these days except mention previous books and that horrendous WEDDING DRESS anthology (ok...not completely horrendous...I did enjoy Nicola Cornick's short story). I'm beyond upset. Brockway's AS YOU DESIRE gave me goose bumps, it was so good.

Book will be out this November. I'm not too sure what the plot is. Judging from the cover, I bet it's about a twenty-something New Yorker who likes to shop and have sex ala Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City. I'll need more info before I decide whether to buy or diss.

Fantastic...another one bites the dust!

I have no clue who this author is. Then again I don't know most authors but since I never did like Sex and the City it's a safe bet I'm not gonna like this book.

Then again I don't like contemporaries either. LOL.

I used to love contemps...until I started reading historicals. Now I'm a historical girl all the way. I'll read Kleypas's new contemp coming out later this year and I have Enoch's contemps in my TBR pile, but I don't know about trying any other author's. Brockway contemps? I'll have to read the review first.

She announced over a year ago now I think that she was going contemporary. I don't thking it's necessarily a bad thing - I wasn't that keen on her latest trilogy and couldn't even finish the last one. Since I really like contemps and historicals equally it doesn't bother me quite as much. As long as she keeps writing romance. And Mailyn - she is a wonderful writer of historicals who has written some real classics. Like Romancelover says As You Desire is wonderful. Another one that is most excellent is All Through the Night.

Apparently, I've been living under a rock.

It seems all the great historical authors are leaning towards contemps.

Yep it has been a while and she said somewhere... a meeting or blog or whatever that one reason was she was tried of writing sex?

I could be wrong I just recall that. So if that is true, talk about a silly and misleading title for a book. I think it will be more along the lines of women's fic chick-lit type stuff. BUT to tell the truth I stopped paying attention when it sounded so ick.

I loved Sex in the City, but I don't need to read about a show I watched for six years. Who knows it could hit the stores and be something completely diff and great. But I doubt it.
