Did she just ruin the ending?

I haven't read SUGAR DADDY yet, but my copy is on its way, courtesy of my friend Janet's friend Andrea, who went to the Kleypas book signing and got me a signed copy (JOY JOY JOY). In any case, I thought I'd check out the review on All About Romance. Is it just me or did the reviewer give away the ending?

Well, I'm not going there now because if they gave away the ending, I'd have to hurt someone. Damn, I HATE when reviewers do that.

She did ruin it....she didn't literally say who the heroine ended up with but she made a comment about a character and...well, she wrecked it. I know because...well, I ran to Borders and checked the last page and voila'...just as I thought. So annoyed.

You just gave me a laugh there. *giggling* Let's see if I have this right. You "thought" the review had given away the ending - but you weren't entirely sure, so you went to the store because the book you Will be getting hadn't gotten to you yet and you read the ending in the store just to make sure that the ending you weren't entirely sure of, was the ending you thought it might be, because you don't have the book yet.
Heh heh.

err...yeah...but really...I guess it was pretty obvious who the chosen hero was based on the review. I just wanted to make sure. I'm bad I know, but I tend to always read the endings of books before anything else. Yeah...that's how I roll! :)

I tend to read the endings first, too, but I feel you about the reviewer ruining it. Although it could be said that the reviewer didn't, because there's obviously a love triangle there and she didn't say WHO she ended up with, right?

She called one of the men a secondary character. That to me meant he wasn't getting the girl and...after checking the book at Borders...turns out I was right.

Daniela, I just skimmed the review: mainly I focused on the incredibly high grade they gave it but I just finished the book and I LOVED it!!!! Now I want to re-read my earlier Kleypas books. The last one in the Wallflowers series was terribly ho-hum to me so this was just such a great great treat. She does contemps very well imo!

Did you see she's guest blogging at Syb's today?

I'll be honest, I didn't feel like it gave the ending away but maybe I'm not use to reading reviews and don't see that much into them?

I'll be sure not to read it. Thanks for the warning!

Way too many details! Darn, I hope Lisa Kleypas doesn't stop writing historical.
